David Marginet, a ship’s master by trade and former superyacht captain, started as night dockmaster at Westhaven Marina in 2017. In 2025 he became the 36^th person in the world to earn Certified Marina Professional Status.

In his years in marinas David has worked in every aspect of operations from maintenance, projects, systems, business improvement, data, planning and improvement.

In his current role he oversees operations and quality across the Auckland Waterfront, where there are over 1,800 boats across the spectrum from small recreational craft to superyachts.

David  continues to learn and sees a long career ahead in the industry with progression and opportunity.
