New Hardstand Operations training option with MAST

The Marine and Specialised Technologies Academy of New Zealand (MAST Academy) has launched a new six-month on the job training option in Hardstand.

The Hardstand Operations micro-credential is designed for school leavers and those new to the industry, including anyone entering a full Boatyard Marina Operations apprenticeship. It is work-based, on the job, with online support.

Hardstand operations micro credential includes:

• Health and Safety & workplace expectations

• Prepare, launch and retrieve boats in a marina

• Understanding of environmental protection practices in a marina

• Safe storage of boats on hardstand

• Communication when moving and storing boats

• Understanding of risk management in a marina
